Q4. Target Audience

Who would be the audience for your media product?

I have added a picture of what I think my target audience will look like and a moodboard below showing what they will be interested in.

In terms of demographics, my target audience will be British females, aged roughly 16-24. These females will be interested in the latest music, fashion and gossip and this reflects the image of the woman to the left. Therefore, in psychographics my target audience could be stereotyped as Aspirers. A subculture that my magazine will be mainly aimed at is the Aspirant Mainstream, these are a youth subculture, that are keen to keep up with the latest things and are happy to spend money to get this look. 

My audience will be mostly interested in music that is in the charts, as it will be 'the latest thing'. They will also be interested in new cars, as you can see from my moodboard and will watch channels such as MTV. These females will also show an interest in travel and experiencing new things, and may also follow certain diets. Most of the things my target audience will be keen on will be things that make themselves look good and to stay healthy. We can see this by their love for shopping, have the latest gadgets and beauty product, including hair dye, hair products and makeup. 

 I already know there is a large number of fashion and gossip magazines, but not many involve music, which for my target audience will be a large interest. I know this magazine will appeal to the target audience, because they love all the latest things and will be interested to keep up with the latest music.

Five different brands my audience would be interested in:

• Topshop - they would shop in Topshop as although it is a high street brand, some celebrities are seen in it, and it will still be affordable.
• Starbucks - The majority of my readers will be based in towns and cities and will drink coffee.
• Apple - Apple products are one of the leading technology companies so most of my readers will have the latest iphones, ipods or imac
• Chanel Makeup - This is a well known makeup brand, used by celebrities which is what my readers will be aspiring to be like. 
• Urban Outfitters - This is also a high street brand, that is well known and looked up to. People normally shop in this shop to get an individual look and this is what my reader will be looking to achieve.
